From Sicily to the Sea: The Story Behind Bronte

Long before Bronte Beach became our muse, there was Bronte — a small town at the base of Mt. Etna in Sicily, Italy. It’s where Camille’s Nonna was born nearly 100 years ago.

After migrating to Australia, Nonna built her life in North Melbourne, raising three children and passing down her love, strength, and signature style. Her legacy lives on in her great-granddaughter’s name — Miela Bronte — and in the spirit of our brand.

Our co-founder Georgie also has deep ties to the sea, growing up in Caloundra as part of a proud surf lifesaving family. Her childhood was spent in the water, sun-kissed and sandy as a nipper at Caloundra MET.

When it came time to create our body care brand, Bronte Beach felt like the perfect fit — a place where heritage, coastal living, and natural beauty come together.
